Band-in-a-Box is an intelligent music accompaniment software program.
You can create, hear and play along to many song ideas and go from "nothing" to
"something" in a very short period of time with Band-in-a-Box as your "on demand" backup band.
Just type in the chords for any song using standard chord symbols (like C, Fm7 or C13b9),
choose the style you'd like, and Band-in-a-Box does the rest. Band-in-a-Box automatically
generates a complete professional quality arrangement of piano, bass, drums, guitar and
strings in a wide variety of popular styles. (Jazz, Pop, Country, Classical and more.)
This package also includes REALBAND, an audio recording program that's fully compatible
with Band in a Box.
System Requirements
Windows XP, Vista or Win7 - DVDROM Drive - 512MB RAM - 400MB hard drive space.More drive space is needed to install RealDrums and RealTracks sets.
We recommend at least 6Gb hard drive space.
Features
Over the years many features have been added
to Band-in-a-Box - Notation, Lyrics, Melody Tracks, Harmonization, and a programmable
StyleMaker. The Soloist and the Melodist are two major "intelligent" features; the Soloist
generates professional quality solos over any chord progression, the Melodist can create songs
from scratch with Chords, Melodies, Intros and Solos.
Band-in-a-Box for Windows can also record an acoustic instrument or voice to add to the
composition, with processing through DirectX audio effects. Its built-in audio harmonies
will turn your audio track into multiple harmony parts and even adjust its pitch by tracking
the Band-in-a-Box Melody track.
You can choose a variety of ways to save your music. Print out your finished creation, save it as a graphic file,
burn it directly to an audio CD, or save it as a Windows Media File or in other compressed formats for a file that's
"Internet ready."
New Features
This new version offers some really exciting features including:
Chords from MP3 - This amazing feature automatically figures out the chords from any MP3, WAV or WMA
audio file, and displays them in Band-in-a-Box. Just load in any MP3 file and you’ll instantly see the chords.
RealDrums and RealTracks - These are audio styles that replace MIDI tracks with actual recordings of top
studio Jazz/Rock/Country musicians! These are not “samples” of single notes; they are full recordings,
lasting from 1 to 8 bars, playing along in perfect sync with the other Band-in-a-Box tracks. The
results are dramatically better than MIDI.
Reharmonist - This feature generates a chord progression based only on the melody for a
complete or portion of a song. Use the feature interactively by displaying a menu of possible chord progressions and
audition them to choose the best one.
